Scope

This section specifies the method for achieving radiation protection instrument calibration conditions in the neutron field generated by the neutron source given in GB/T 14055.1—2008, with particular emphasis on the correction of external influences (such as the correction of neutrons scattered from the walls of the calibration laboratory).
Due to the widespread use of radionuclide neutron sources, this section focuses on the calibration of radionuclide neutron sources (Chapters 4 to 6), while the calibration using accelerators and reactors (8.2 and 8.3) is only briefly described.
ISO 8529-3 provides conversion coefficients and general rules and methods for calibration.
