Scope

This standard applies to low-voltage static reactive power generators (hereinafter referred to as generators) used to improve power factor and power quality in AC power systems with a nominal voltage of 1,000 V (1,140 V) and below, and a frequency of 50 Hz. They are also known as low-voltage static synchronous compensation devices.
