GB/T 23902-2009 Non-destructive testing—Ultrasonic examination—Time-of-flight diffraction technique as a method for detection and sizing of discontinuities
Basic Information
Scope
This standard specifies the general principles of the ultrasonic diffraction time-of-flight (TOF) technique.
This standard is applicable to the detection and quantification of discontinuities in carbon steel and low-alloy steel components. It is also applicable to other types of materials, provided that the geometric and acoustic properties of the materials and the detection sensitivity are fully considered when using the diffraction TOF technique.
This standard is applicable to the detection of discontinuities in materials and the applications contained in GB/T 5616, including the welds mentioned therein. The reason for choosing this method is its clear ultrasonic probe position and scanning direction.
Unless otherwise specified in the referenced documents, this standard is the minimum applicable requirement.
