Scope

1.1 This part specifies the terms, definitions, and performance requirements of the effective surface of anodized films on aluminum and aluminum alloys, as well as test methods and inspection rules. 1.2 This part applies to anodized films on aluminum and aluminum alloys for protection and decoration. 1.3 This part does not apply to the following film layers: a) Barrier-type non-porous anodized films; b) Films produced by anodizing in chromic acid or phosphoric acid solutions; c) Anodized film base layers used for organic coatings or metal plating; d) Hard anodized films used in engineering applications.
