GB 50642-2011 Construction acceptance and maintenance standards of the barrier-free facilities

Scope

1.0.1 In order to implement the "Law on the Protection of Persons with Disabilities", facilitate the travel and social participation of disabled people, the elderly, and other special social groups, as well as all members of society, strengthen the construction of barrier-free physical environments, and standardize the construction and maintenance of barrier-free facilities, unifying the acceptance requirements during the construction phase and the maintenance requirements during the use phase, these guidelines are formulated. 1.0.2 These guidelines apply to the construction, acceptance, and maintenance of barrier-free facilities in newly built, renovated, and expanded urban roads, buildings, residential areas, parks, and other venues. 1.0.3 The construction and maintenance of barrier-free facilities should ensure safety and practicality. 1.0.4 The construction and delivery of barrier-free facilities should be integrated with the construction and delivery of civil engineering projects and carried out simultaneously. The construction of barrier-free facilities should involve specialized construction planning and acceptance; barrier-free facilities should be regularly inspected and maintained to eliminate potential hazards and ensure their safe and normal use. 1.0.5 In addition to complying with the provisions of these guidelines, the construction acceptance and maintenance of barrier-free facilities should also comply with the relevant national standards currently in force.
