Scope

This part applies to thyristor valves of high-voltage direct current transmission or grid phase converters that are part of a back-to-back system, with metal oxide surge arresters directly connected to both ends of the valve. This part is limited to electrical type testing and factory testing. The tests specified in this part are based on air-insulated valves. For other types of valves, the requirements and acceptance standards of this test must also be complied with.
