Scope

This part specifies the performance requirements, inspection rules, marking, packaging, transportation, and storage of medium- and low-power internal combustion engines. This part applies to medium- and low-power internal combustion engines used in road vehicles, ships, agricultural tractors and forestry machinery, construction machinery, generator sets, and irrigation and drainage machinery. Other medium- and low-power internal combustion engines not listed here may be implemented as a reference (hereinafter referred to as internal combustion engines).
