Scope

This standard specifies the terms and definitions, classification and marking, requirements, test methods, inspection rules, marking, packaging, and storage of air conditioning condensation heat recovery equipment.
This standard applies to condensation heat recovery equipment for cold water (heat pump) units driven by electric motors and using a vapor compression refrigeration cycle in industrial and civil buildings, as well as to condensation heat recovery equipment for room air conditioners and unitary air conditioners.
This standard does not apply to drinking water, beverages, and industrial special equipment that do not use water as a refrigerant (heat) agent.
