Scope

This document specifies the general conditions and methods for testing samples in a condensed water environment with high concentrations of sulfur dioxide, particularly for sulfur dioxide concentrations not included in GB/T 9789-2008, so that comparable test results can be obtained when the tests are conducted in different laboratories. This document is applicable to determining the adaptability of products and their materials to use in chemical corrosion environments. The content of this document does not include the analysis and evaluation of sample shapes, sample preparation, and test results. For these aspects, please refer to relevant standards or consult according to specific circumstances. This test cannot be directly used for corrosion resistance comparisons unless the application environment of the corrosion protection system is similar. Because the corrosion test conditions differ greatly from actual application conditions, the corrosion process and corrosion mechanisms are also different.
