Scope

This document specifies the functional components, performance requirements, interface requirements, and testing methods of high-speed modulators used in satellite-to-ground data transmission. This document is applicable to the design and testing of high-speed modulators (hereinafter referred to as "modulators") with data transmission rates between 5 Mb/s and 4,800 Mb/s between spacecraft such as satellites, space stations, and probes and the ground.
