Scope

This standard specifies the classification, requirements, test methods, inspection rules, marking, packaging, transportation, and storage of silicone structural sealants for insulating glass (referred to as insulating glass silicone structural sealants). This standard applies to silicone sealants used for the second seal of insulating glass units in structural assembly. This standard does not apply to silicone structural sealants used for the bonding and assembly of building curtain walls.
