Scope
This part of GB/T 8897 specifies the requirements for the electrochemical system, dimensions, naming conventions, extreme structures, markings, testing methods, performance, reliability, and environment of primary batteries. It also stipulates the system letters, electrodes, electrolytes, nominal voltage, and maximum open-circuit voltage of the electrochemical system used as a classification tool for primary batteries.
This part is applicable to batteries that meet the requirements of Appendix A, ensuring that batteries produced by different manufacturers have standardized shapes, fittings, and functions.
