Scope

This part of GB/T 3286 specifies the determination of silica content using the silicomolybdenum blue spectrophotometry and the dehydration weight method with perchloric acid.
This part is applicable to the determination of silica content in limestone and dolomite, and also to the determination of silica content in metallurgical lime. For the silicomolybdenum blue spectrophotometry, the measurement range (mass fraction) is 0.05% to 4.0% silica content; for the dehydration weight method with perchloric acid, the measurement range (mass fraction) is greater than 2.0% silica content.
