Scope

Replace Chapter 1 of GB 17465.1—2009 with the following content:
This part applies to AC two-pole interconnect couplers for household and similar appliances or equipment, with or without grounding contacts, used on AC power supplies with a rated voltage not exceeding 250 V, a rated current not exceeding 16 A, and a frequency of 50 Hz or 60 Hz. These couplers are used to interconnect the power supply to matching electrical appliances or equipment.
Note: Appliance output sockets that are integrated into or installed in appliances or other equipment fall within the scope of this part. The dimensions and general requirements of this part apply to such appliance output sockets, but certain tests may not be applicable.
The requirements for plug connectors are based on the assumption that the temperature of the corresponding appliance output socket does not exceed 65 °C (cold conditions).
Interconnect couplers that comply with the requirements of this part are suitable for use in environments with an ambient temperature not exceeding 35 °C, but occasionally reaching 40 °C1).
Interconnect couplers that comply with the standard loose-leaf requirements of this part are used for interconnecting appliances or equipment without special moistureproof requirements. If they are used for interconnecting other appliances or equipment, or for interconnecting appliances or equipment that may be affected by water spillage during normal use, additional requirements must be met.
Note: The following situations may require special structures:
——In special environments, such as on ships, in vehicles, and similar places;
——In hazardous environments, such as in areas where explosions may occur.
