Scope
This standard specifies the selection and preparation of samples for non-metallic inclusions in steel by the acid etching method with a tower-shaped etching pattern, the method of etching inspection, the presentation and evaluation of inspection results, and test reports, etc.
This standard is applicable to tower-shaped samples of steel with a diameter, edge length, or thickness of 16 mm to 150 mm for inspecting the number, length, and distribution of etching patterns in steel by the acid etching method. Other products or specifications can be used for reference.
