Scope

This part of GB/T 18290 applies to solderless press-fit connections, which are used in communication equipment and electronic devices employing similar technologies. Press-fit connections feature press-fit terminals embedded in double-sided or multi-layered printed circuit boards with plated through-holes. Additionally, in order to obtain stable electrical connections under specified environmental conditions, this part also provides some empirical data based on actual industrial usage. The purpose of this part is to determine the applicability of press-fit connections under specified mechanical, electrical, and atmospheric conditions. Only the flexible press-fit areas are evaluated according to this part. Information on solid press-fit areas is provided in Appendix A.
