Scope

This standard specifies the GRAFCET1) specification language for functional description of sequential behavior in control systems. This standard also specifies the symbols, rules, and explanations of GRAFCET graphical representations. This standard also lays the foundation for automatic production systems in industrial applications, with no specific application fields excluded. The method of establishing norms using GRAFCET is not within the scope of this standard. For example, the "SFC language" specified in GB/T 15969.3—1995 is not included, as this language defines a set of programming languages for programmable controllers.
