GB/T 8498-2008 Earth-moving machinery—Basic type—Identification and terms and definitions

Scope

This standard specifies the terminology, definitions, and identification structures for earthmoving machinery according to the following operational purposes: — Excavation; — Loading; — Transportation; — Drilling, spreading, compacting, or digging trenches in soil and other materials, such as working on roads, dams, and construction sites. The purpose of this standard is to provide an accurate method for identifying machinery based on its functions and structures. Appendix A provides information on the identification structures used in this standard, as well as the classification of earthmoving machinery using this structure, and subsequently derives a detailed identification method. Appendix B provides block diagrams of the driver control forms for each type of earthmoving machinery.
