Scope

This standard specifies the definitions and nomenclature, symbols and units, manufacturing requirements, physical characteristics, type tests and procedures, and marking, user manuals, packaging, storage, and inspection rules for pipeline pressure regulators used in welding, cutting, and similar processes (hereinafter referred to as pressure regulators).
This standard applies to single-stage and two-stage pipeline pressure regulators that regulate high-pressure gases, such as compressed gases in gas cylinders or methyl acetylene propylene mixtures (MPS) and dissolved acetylene, to the required output pressure when they are fed into the main pipeline.
This standard does not apply to the pressure regulators directly installed on gas cylinders as described in GB/T 7899.
