GB/T 41973-2022 Industrial fans—Specifications for balance quality and vibration levels
Basic Information
Scope
This document specifies vibration and balance limits for fans used in all applications, except for fans specifically designed for air circulation, such as ceiling fans and table fans. However, it applies to all types of fans with an installed capacity of less than 300 kW, or motors with a maximum power of 355 kW (following the R20 series) that can be purchased on the market. For fans with a power exceeding this value, the applicable limits are specified in ISO 108163. When installing fans with a power ranging from 300 kW to 355 kW and used as items under a single contract, the manufacturer and purchaser should agree on the applicable standards, typically based on the majority opinion of the participating units. Vibration data may vary depending on the application, as detailed in Chapter 5. For customers willing to accept lower-quality balance and vibration levels, see Appendix H. This document permits vibration measurement values to be recorded as speed, acceleration, or displacement, either in absolute units or decibels based on reference values. Vibration measurement values are influenced by the actual installation on the balancing machine (see Appendix B), but the preferred parameter is speed, measured in millimeters per second (mm/s). Given the differences in global practices, root mean square (r.m.s.) and peak-to-peak or peak values are also provided. It should be noted that fans and their components can be regarded as spring-mass systems, understanding which can help resolve most vibration issues (see Appendix D). Additionally, it has been considered that fans are often not connected to the duct system during factory testing, resulting in significant differences in aerodynamic conditions compared to normal operation. Temporary foundation supports with different masses and stiffnesses may also be used, correspondingly, these tests specify "narrowband" vibration measurement. On-site tests employ "wideband" measurement, which represents the overall vibration inte
