Basic Information
Scope
This document specifies the DLMS/COSEM communication configuration for transferring measurement data modeled by COSEM interface objects via the Local Data Transfer Interface (LDTI). The LDTI can be part of a meter or a Local Network Access Point (LNAP) hosting a DLMS/COSEM server. This document defines the commonalities of different communication configurations for the LDTI interface. The appendices specify the specific elements of the communication protocol and are an integral part of this document. Appendix A (normative) specifies the communication configuration using the protocol defined in IEC 6205621. A.1 specifies the communication configuration supporting the DLMS/COSEM application layer, and A.2 specifies the communication configuration using the traditional Mode D. The physical interface is an optical interface as specified in IEC 620562:2002, Section 4.3. Appendix B (normative) specifies the communication configuration using the protocol defined in IEC 6205631. B.1 specifies the communication configuration supporting the DLMS/COSEM application layer, and B.2 specifies the communication configuration using the traditional Mode D. The physical interface is a twisted pair cable using a carrier signal (referred to as the Euridis bus). Appendix C (normative) specifies a communication configuration based on the HDLC-based connection-oriented DLMS/COSEM 3-layer structure defined in IEC 6205676. The physical interface is RS 485 or TIA 232F. Appendix D (normative) specifies a communication configuration using the physical layer defined in EN 137572 and the HDLC-based data link layer defined in IEC 6205646. The physical interface is a twisted pair cable with baseband signals. Appendix E (normative) specifies a communication configuration using UDP/IP. The physical layer is not within the scope of this document. The communication configurations in A.1, B.1, Appendix C, Appendix D, and Appendix E all support the DLMS/COSEM application layer. Appendix F (informative) p
