Scope

This standard specifies the classification, specifications, dimensions, requirements, test methods, marking, packaging, transportation, and storage of polyester strapping tapes for packaging (hereinafter referred to as strapping tapes). This standard applies to strapping tapes made primarily from polyester (polyethylene terephthalate, abbreviated as PET), which are extruded and unidirectionally stretched and used for packaging and bundling with manual tools or automatic strapping machines.
