Scope

This standard specifies the technical data, operating environment, metal structure, main components, mechanisms, electrical systems, safety protection devices, and inspection contents, technical requirements, and methods for electric hoists used as lifting mechanisms for lifting molten metals. This standard applies to the supervision and inspection, and regular inspection of the following lifting equipment: metallurgical LD and LX electric single-girder cranes with a lifting weight of less than 10 tons, and LH electric hoist bridge cranes; portal cranes with a lifting weight of less than 10 tons used for lifting molten metals with electric hoists as lifting mechanisms; and electric hoists with a lifting weight of less than 10 tons used for lifting molten metals, such as wire rope electric hoists and chain electric hoists.
