Scope

1.1 This procedure applies to weights of accuracy grades E1, E2, F1, F2, M1, M12, M2, M23, and M3 ranging from 1mg to 5000kg. Weights of each accuracy grade should be equipped with corresponding metrological instruments for use. They can be used to verify weights and weighing instruments of lower accuracy grades. In practical use, the nominal value of the weights can be expanded upward or downward within the corresponding accuracy grade as needed.
1.2 This procedure applies to the initial verification (verification after repair is considered as initial verification, and the same applies hereinafter) and subsequent verification of various weights.
1.3 The definitions of weight accuracy grades are as follows:
1.3.1 E1-grade weights (formerly known as working reference-grade weights): Traced to national reference standards and secondary reference standards, used for verifying the transfer of E2-grade weights, for verifying corresponding weighing instruments, and for use with corresponding weighing instruments.
1.3.2 E2-grade weights: Used for verifying the transfer of F1-grade and lower weights, for verifying corresponding weighing instruments, and for use with corresponding weighing instruments.
1.3.3 F1-grade weights: Used for verifying the transfer of F2-grade and lower weights, for verifying corresponding weighing instruments, and for use with corresponding weighing instruments.
1.3.4 F2-grade weights: Used for verifying the transfer of M1-grade, M12-grade, and lower weights, for verifying corresponding weighing instruments, and for use with corresponding weighing instruments.
1.3.5 M1-grade weights: Used for verifying the transfer of M2-grade, M23-grade, and lower weights, for verifying corresponding weighing instruments, and for use with corresponding weighing instruments.
1.3.6 M2-grade weights: Used for verifying the transfer of M3-grade weights, for verifying corresponding weighing instruments, and for use with c
