Scope

This standard specifies the classification and requirements of temporary polymer-based crown and bridge materials for dentistry, and also stipulates the corresponding test methods for these standard requirements.
This standard applies to temporary polymer-based crown and bridge materials used to protect prepared abutment teeth after clinical tooth preparation but before permanent restoration.
This standard does not apply to permanent polymer-based crown and bridge materials used for restorations made in dental laboratories (see YY 0710-2009), nor to polymer-based materials used for crowns, veneers, or repairs in direct tooth restoration, or those used in the occlusal area of posterior teeth (see YY 1042).
