Scope
This document describes the method for determining the tensile properties of fine ceramic fiber monofilaments at room temperature, including the principle of performance determination, testing equipment and materials, samples, sample preparation, sample quantity, testing process, result calculation, and testing report. It specifies the testing conditions and methods for tensile properties of fine ceramic fiber monofilaments, such as tensile strength, elastic modulus, and breaking strain. This document is applicable to continuous ceramic fibers with a breaking strain of no more than 5% taken from yarn tapes, yarns, tow, and braids. It is not applicable to carbon fibers that exhibit non-linear tensile stress-strain curves, nor is it applicable to testing the uniformity of fiber strength performance or evaluating the impact of stress on fiber volume. This document does not conduct statistical analysis of damaged fibers.
