本文件规定了起动用重载车辆用铅酸蓄电池（以下简称蓄电池）的尺寸的型号编制及端子极性标记、蓄电池型号及分类、蓄电池端子尺寸。
本文件适用于额定电压为 12 V，供各种重载汽车、拖拉机及其他内燃机的起动、点火和照明用排气式（富液式）蓄电池和阀控式（有气体复合功能）蓄电池。
本文件不适用于作为其他目的的蓄电池，例如铁路内燃机的重载车辆起动用蓄电池。
