This section specifies the dimensions, applications, tests, and requirements of the 7-core standard type (24 N) electrical connectors with a nominal voltage of 24 V between tractors and trailers. Note: If the 7-core electrical connectors cannot meet the usage requirements, the 15-core electrical connectors specified in ISO 12098 may be used to replace the combination of 7-core electrical connectors specified in this section and ISO 3731.
