Scope

This standard specifies the terms and definitions, classification, requirements, and test methods for milliwatt-level ultrasonic sources. This standard applies to milliwatt-level ultrasonic sources (hereinafter referred to as sound sources) used as medical ultrasonic power standards. This sound source consists of an ultrasonic transducer and an excitation source, and is a stable sound source with a known output ultrasonic power. This sound source is mainly used in ultrasonic measurement laboratories for daily comparison and verification of the effectiveness of ultrasonic power measurement devices and hydrophone measurement systems.
