Scope
This standard specifies the method for determining the wear resistance of single-layer or multi-layer coatings of paints, varnishes, or related products.
This test method is suitable for determining the wear resistance of single-layer or multi-layer coatings of paints, varnishes, or related products by dropping abrasives onto the coating. The wear resistance is expressed in terms of the amount of abrasives required to wear away a unit film thickness of the coating.
