Scope

This document describes a method of determining the shielding effectiveness of shielded metal communication cables by applying a specified voltage and current to the shielding layer of the cable and measuring the induced voltage to obtain the surface transfer impedance.
The measurement is conducted using commonly available high-frequency measurement instruments, with a frequency range ranging from several thousand hertz to 1 GHz or higher.
