Scope
This section specifies the types of appearance defects of rotating shaft labyrinth sealing rings made of elastomeric materials. These appearance defects may weaken the function of the sealing rings. The purpose is to facilitate manufacturers and users to explore the impact of these defects on the sealing rings used in different situations.
This section applies to rotating shaft labyrinth sealing rings (hereinafter referred to as sealing rings) made of elastomeric materials used under low-pressure conditions (with air-side pressure at atmospheric pressure and liquid-side pressure higher than atmospheric pressure, ranging from 0 kPa to 30 kPa).
