Scope

This standard specifies the concept of introducing environmental factors into the design and development of electrical products, for use by all personnel involved in product design and development, regardless of the type, size, geographical location, and complexity of the organization; it applies to all new or modified electrical and electronic equipment. This standard applies to those who are directly involved in product development, as well as those responsible for formulating policies within the organization and participating in the decision-making process.
