Scope
This standard specifies the general requirements for ultrasonic testing of thick steel plates, comparison samples, testing instruments and equipment, testing conditions and methods, testing and evaluation of defects, quality grading of steel plates, and testing reports. This standard is applicable to the ultrasonic testing of steel plates used in pressure-bearing components, bridges, buildings, shipbuilding, steel structures, pipelines, molds, and other applications with a thickness of not less than 6 mm. Austenitic stainless steel plates can also refer to this standard.
