Scope

This standard specifies the method for determining the carbon, silicon, manganese, phosphorus, sulfur, chromium, nickel, tungsten, molybdenum, vanadium, aluminum, titanium, copper, niobium, cobalt, boron, zirconium, arsenic, and tin contents in carbon steel and medium-low alloy steel using spark discharge atomic emission spectrometry (conventional method).
This standard is applicable to the analysis of carbon steel and medium-low alloy steel samples in the as-cast or forged and rolled states using electric furnaces, induction furnaces, electric slag furnaces, converters, etc. The determination ranges of each element are shown in Table 1.
