Scope
This standard specifies the principles, reagents, instruments and equipment, analytical procedures, result calculation, and precision for determining tert-butyl hydroquinone (TBHQ) using gas chromatography and liquid chromatography. This standard is applicable to the determination of TBHQ content in edible vegetable oils with low melting points. This standard is not applicable to the determination of TBHQ content in edible vegetable oils with melting points higher than 35°C. The quantification limit of this standard is 0.001 g/kg for gas chromatography and 0.006 g/kg for liquid chromatography. In this standard, gas chromatography is the arbitration method.
