Scope

This standard specifies the structural type, dimensions, mechanical characteristics, and electrical characteristics of pin-type porcelain insulators for high-voltage lines. This standard applies to pin-type porcelain insulators (hereinafter referred to as insulators) used in AC overhead power lines with a nominal voltage of up to 10 kV and a frequency not exceeding 100 Hz. The installation location of the insulators is in areas with an ambient temperature of -40°C to +40°C and an altitude not exceeding 1,000 m. This standard does not apply to insulators used in environments where the porcelain parts and metal accessories of the insulators are subject to severe corrosion or where the performance of the insulators is reduced.
