Scope
This standard specifies the eddy current flaw detection method for circular seamless pipes made of copper and copper alloys (hereinafter referred to as pipes). This standard is applicable to eddy current flaw detection of straight pipes and coiled pipes with an outer diameter of 3 mm to 160 mm and a wall thickness of 0.20 mm to 6.0 mm. This standard is applicable to both the through-beam eddy current flaw detection method and the rotating eddy current flaw detection method. The types of defects detected by this standard mainly include cracks, inclusions, flaking, and impact damage in pipes, which are defects caused by metallurgical and mechanical processing that disrupt the continuity of the metal.
