Scope

This standard specifies the requirements, inspection rules, classification, and marking for marine boom cranes (hereinafter referred to as "cranes").
This standard applies to the design and acceptance of single-boom cranes used for loading and unloading cargo, which are driven by electric or hydraulic power and operate in port areas or waters with wind speeds not exceeding Beaufort 2 in the marine environment.
This standard does not apply to the design and acceptance of electromagnetic and grab cranes, offshore platform cranes, and auxiliary operation cranes such as general cargo cranes and boat-lifting cranes.
