Scope

This document specifies the technical requirements for the manufacture, testing, inspection, and acceptance of weldable austenitic-ferritic stainless steel pressure castings used in Class 1, Class 2, and Class 3 pressurized water reactors. This document applies to weldable austenitic-ferritic stainless steel pressure castings used in Class 1, Class 2, and Class 3 pressurized water reactors. However, molybdenum-containing castings are only used in operating conditions where the working temperature is below 250 °C. This document does not apply to austenitic-ferritic stainless steel pressure castings used in the pump casings of reactor coolant pumps, or to austenitic-ferritic stainless steel centrifugally cast pipes, cast elbow pipes, and slanted connection nozzles used in reactor coolant system pipelines.
