Scope

This document specifies the technical requirements for visual inspection of nuclear island mechanical equipment in nuclear power plants during the manufacturing and installation process. This document applies to visual inspection of nuclear-grade materials, components, welded joints, and equipment surfaces used in nuclear island mechanical equipment, to determine the surface condition of the inspected components, the alignment of mating surfaces, deformation or leakage, and integrity. This document does not involve visual observation for identifying the results of other non-destructive testing.
