Scope

This document specifies the performance and characteristic requirements for measuring equipment used to measure radio interference, applicable to a frequency range of 9 kHz to 18 GHz. This document also sets forth requirements for dedicated equipment used to measure intermittent interference.
Note: According to IEC Guide 107, CISPR 16-1-1 is the basic electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) standard used by IEC-affiliated product committees. As stated in IEC Guide 107, it is the responsibility of product committees to determine the applicability of EMC standards. CISPR and its sub-technical committees (corresponding to the SAC/TC79 Technical Committee and its sub-technical committees in China) cooperate with these product committees in assessing the value of specific tests for their particular products. The aforementioned product committees correspond to relevant product technical committees in China.
The requirements of this document apply to electromagnetic interference (EMI) receivers and spectrum analyzers. The term "measurement receiver" used in this document refers to both EMI receivers and spectrum analyzers (see also 3.7). The calibration requirements for measurement receivers are specified in Appendix K.
