Scope

This standard specifies the general requirements for X-ray industrial computed tomography (CT) inspection of composite materials, the requirements for industrial CT systems, the inspection process, inspection evaluation, and inspection records and reports.
This standard is applicable to the detection of density distribution and material uniformity of resin-based, ceramic-based, and metal-based composite materials, as well as the detection of defects such as gas holes (voids), cracks, inclusions, delamination, folding, and wrinkling.
