GB/T 9751.1-2008 Paints and varnishes—Determination of viscosity using rotary viscometers—Part1:Cone-and-plate viscometer operated at a high rate of shear
Basic Information
Scope
This part is one of a series of standards involving the sampling and testing of paints, varnishes, and related products. This part supplements GB/T 6753.4—1998 "Determination of flow time with a flow cup for paints and varnishes". This part specifies the general procedures to be followed when measuring the dynamic viscosity of paints, varnishes, and related products at shear rates of 9,000 s-1 to 12,000 s-1. The measured values can provide information about the resistance of the materials during application processes such as brushing, spraying, and rolling. The methods described in this part are applicable to all paints and varnishes, regardless of whether they are Newtonian or not. If the material contains large particulate dispersions, the results may be inaccurate.
