Scope

This procedure applies to the initial verification, subsequent verification, and in-use inspection of radiation protection instruments (including monitors) used to measure the ambient dose equivalent (rate) and/or directional dose equivalent (rate) produced by external exposure to X-ray and gamma radiation. The photon energy range is 10 keV to 15 MeV and 4 MeV to 9 MeV.
This procedure does not apply to the verification of medical radiology instruments and personal dosimeters worn on the human body.
