Scope

This standard specifies the requirements, test methods, marking, user's manual, packaging, transportation, and storage for single-use medical masks (hereinafter referred to as masks).
This standard applies to single-use masks that cover the user's mouth, nose, and jaw, and are used in ordinary medical environments to block pollutants exhaled or sprayed from the mouth and nose.
This standard does not apply to medical protective masks and medical surgical masks.
