Scope
This standard specifies the terms and definitions, symbols and explanations, principles, methods, and evaluation of the effects of ultrasonic impact treatment for eliminating residual stress in metal materials. This standard is applicable to ultrasonic impact treatment for eliminating residual stress in metal components with a material thickness greater than 4 mm, a yield strength not exceeding 900 MPa, and an elongation after fracture greater than 5%.
