Scope
This standard specifies a conceptual model based on geographic identifiers spatial reference, establishes a universal model based on geographic identifiers spatial reference, and clarifies the components of the spatial reference system and the basic components of the geographic dictionary. Although the coordinate-based spatial reference has been defined in GB/T 30170-2013, this standard still includes a mechanism for recording supplementary coordinate references. This standard enables data producers to define spatial reference systems based on geographic identifiers, helps users understand the spatial reference used by data sets, and enables geographic dictionaries to be compiled according to consistent standards. It also supports the development of other standards in the field of geographic information. This standard applies to digital geographic data, and its principles can also be extended to other forms of geographic information, such as maps, charts, and text files.
