Scope

This standard specifies the terms and definitions, test principles, test devices, test procedures, test records, and test reports for detecting glass defects using the photoelastic scanning method.
This standard applies to transparent flat glass and tempered glass. It can be used for detecting glass defects in service as well as for detecting glass defects before factory testing.
This standard does not apply to embossed, laminated, and coated glass.
