Scope

The standard specifies the terms and definitions, classification and marking, requirements, test methods, inspection rules, marking, packaging, transportation, storage, etc. of air conditioning variable air volume terminal devices (hereinafter referred to as VAV terminal devices).
This standard applies to air conditioning terminal devices installed in air conditioning duct systems for distributing airflow and controlling indoor air parameters. It does not apply to fixed blade air distributors and air outlet terminal devices installed at the inlet and outlet positions of air conditioning duct systems.
